We see a chain of related actions that contain the general element of guidance to the truth, muraqabah (vigilant awareness of Allah), fear and concern about the results of the wrong acts, fighting with one’s desires, patience, and eventually attention to the value of the time and using it efficiently.
Attention to the transient nature of this world and the fact that nobody is going to survive eternally or for a long period of time helps the development of moral anticipation, which in turn results in patience in performing moral actions."
