خلاصة:
Islamic psychology, as a "school of thought," is a branch of knowledge that describes, explains, predicts, and controls human behavior and mental processes as a divine creation in physical, psychological, social, ethical, and spiritual dimensions, using empirical, rational, and revealed sources and methods. While Islamic psychology utilizes the findings of other contemporary psychological schools appropriately, it needs a system based on Islam or originating from Islam to describe, explain, predict, and explain key issues. One of the main topics of psychology is psychopathology (abnormal psychology). The present research aims to develop an Islamic perspective on psychopathology, using thematic analysis and focusing on Imam Hadi's letter to the people of Ahvaz in explaining issues related to determinism and free will, and proposes a theoretical model for psychological injuries. In this theoretical model, psychological injuries are categorized into three groups: "trials (injuries related to the correctness of creation)," "mental illnesses resulting from misuse of free will," and "environmental-social injuries." Trials are divided into categories such as affliction in the perfection of creation, affliction in the perfection of senses, affliction in the stability of reason, affliction in discernment, and affliction in speech and expression. Diseases resulting from the misuse of free will are also divided into belief-related diseases, moral diseases, behavioral problems, heart diseases, and diseases resulting from lack of reason (armies of ignorance). Environmental-social injuries include psychological injuries resulting from improper parenting (caregivers), injuries resulting from oppressive and corrupt governments and inappropriate societies, and injuries resulting from bad companions and unsuitable friends. In the discussion and conclusion section, the implications of the proposed theoretical model are examined.

Stein, Phillips, Bolton, Fulford, Sadler & Kendler appears in the fourth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (for example, under “Sexual Disorder Not Otherwise Specified”) where the individual states that they are suffering from their sexual orientation or intend to change their sexual orientation.
In the opinion of the author, the clear explanations of Imam Hadi (a) regarding the important issue of “neither determinism nor free will, but a position between the two,” along with the narrations and verses related to the discussion, such as what was mentioned about “afflicted or injured” individuals and “true madmen,” can help us in developing a comprehensive theoretical model for classifying disorders.
