Regional literature contains descriptions of the characteristics of nature and people in specific areas. All regions of the world, including Persian and Urdu literature, have produced literary works of this kind. Several notable regional works have been produced by Ali Abbas Hosseini on the subcontinent of India and Pakistan and Mahmoud Dolatabadi in Iran. First, the existing definitions of regional literature and its history in Persian and Urdu literature will be briefly explained, and then, in an analytical and inferential manner, the elements and characteristics of regional literature in selected stories by Ali Abbas Hosseini and Mahmoud Dolat Abadi will be explored

Ali Abbas Hosseini in the Indian subcontinent and Pakistan, and Mahmoud Dowlatabadi in Iran, have created many works consistent with regional literature and have high value in this literary field.
Subsequently, using analytical and inferential methods, the elements and characteristics of regional literature in the stories of Ali Abbas Hosseini and Mahmoud Dowlatabadi will be examined comparatively.

So far, several studies have been published separately on regional literature in Iran and the Indian subcontinent and Pakistan, all of which describe the characteristics of regional literature or the regional literature of a specific region of Iran or the subcontinent: Reza Sadeghishahr in his article entitled “Climatic and Rural Characteristics in Storytelling of Khorasan,” has examined the regional stories of Khorasan, or Mohammad Jafari (Qanavati) in the article “Regional Literature” in the monthly journal of Literature and Philosophy, issue one, 1380, and also Abdolali Dastgheib, Towards Native Storytelling, Tehran: Art Bureau, 1376; have introduced regional literature and examined its dimensions.
However, none of these works have studied the simultaneous and comparative elements of regional literature in the stories of Mahmoud Dowlatabadi and Ali Abbas Hosseini, nor has a separate work been written in Persian on the subject of the village and regional literature, and examining its dimensions in Urdu literature and also in the works of Ali Abbas Hosseini.

Mahmoud Dowlatabadi and Ali Abbas Hussaini, who have a special place in Urdu and Persian literature, have remained loyal to a specific region and climate in their works.
