خلاصة:
Following the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, despite the stability of some factors influencing foreign policy, the country's foreign behavior towards Israel underwent a fundamental transformation and took on a confrontational state. While before this period, relations between the two regimes were at a higher level in various strategic, military and even economic fields. Therefore, the main question of the present research is which theory of international relations can better explain this change in foreign policy? To this end, this article places its main hypothesis on the constructivist theory of international relations and states that the formation of the interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the orientation of its foreign policy are rooted in the way its identity is formed and evolved. For this purpose, the first part of this article examines the theory of constructivism in international relations, the second part examines the role of this theory in analyzing foreign policy, and the third part examines the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran towards Israel from the perspective of this theory.
