خلاصة:
Knowledge hiding is one of the new concepts in the management of organizational knowledge. Although the nature of the relationship between projects teams members will have a substantial impact on the knowledge hiding behavior, different characteristics of Knowledge can also affect knowledge hiding. Based on the behaviors of the project teams, the aim of this research is to identify what characteristics of transferred knowledge between team members will lead to hiding or sharing it. The research model consisted of 4 variables: knowledge complexity, knowledge uniqueness, knowledge relatedness and knowledge sharing cost determined by the review of the literature and consultation with experts in management. The project team members were randomly selected and the data were gathered through a questionnaire. The results of the factor analysis and regression analysis showed that the uniqueness of knowledge had the greatest impact on knowledge hiding.
ملخص الجهاز:
The research model includes four variables: knowledge complexity, knowledge uniqueness, knowledge relevance to tasks, and the cost of knowledge transfer, which were obtained based on theoretical background and expert consultation in the field of knowledge management.
By distributing questionnaires among project team members using stratified proportional random sampling and finally conducting tests such as confirmatory factor analysis and regression analysis, it was found that the characteristic of knowledge uniqueness has the greatest impact on knowledge hiding.
No precise statistics exist regarding knowledge hiding in domestic research; however, conducting studies such as hiding organizational knowledge (Naseri & Eisayi, 2013), examining the effect of social norms on knowledge hiding in organizations (Keshavarz & Ghalipour, 2013), and presenting a contextual model of knowledge hiding in software companies (Ghalipour & Labafi, 2014) indicates the presence of knowledge hiding in Iranian organizations.
Therefore, the main issue of this research is to investigate what characteristics of knowledge transferred between members of project teams lead an individual to decide to share or hide knowledge.
In this research, after reviewing the literature, it was found that factors such as the complexity of knowledge, the uniqueness of knowledge, the relevance of knowledge to tasks, and the cost of knowledge transfer – which are characteristics of knowledge – are effective in the decision of project team members to take action to hide knowledge.
Conceptual Model 1 Articles published in the field of knowledge hiding, knowledge management barriers, and knowledge withholding in project organizations were studied, and the findings of each were examined in the background section of the research.
