خلاصة:
The categorization of novel types is done based on numerous and diverse criteria and components such as content, structure, time, place, character, and so on (or the prominence and centrality of one of them). One of these components (content) has given a special identity to novels that seriously address oil and related issues; to the extent that they can be said to have relative independence and cannot be definitively placed under known novel types, and perhaps a new title can be chosen for this type of novel. The authors, in this research, strive, relying on the "Theory of the Novel" and the rules of defining novel types, after analyzing and examining Nawal Al-Saadawi's novel *Love in the Time of Oil* (Al-Hubb fi Zaman al-Naft), to introduce a genre of novel, as "Oil Novel", as an independent genre, and to provide a definition of it based on novel theories. This research suggests that works containing components such as oil and related issues and consequences can be placed under the title "Oil Novel".
