خلاصة:
The essence of the meaning of life, meaning the purposefulness and non-absurdity of existence, is one of the subjects that has occupied human thought. This issue is one of those matters where failure to respond has caused the emergence of intellectual and social crises in various societies, especially in Western societies. In this regard, Allameh Mohammad Taqi Misbah Yazdi, one of the contemporary Islamic philosophers, has deeply explored the essence of the meaning of life and ultimately associated the meaningfulness of life, which is a metaphor for the purpose of life, with proximity to God. Proximity to God, meaning getting closer to God, is the true station achieved by humans under the shadow of voluntary actions in the path of divine servitude. This article, after presenting the problem and the conceptualization of the meaning of life and referring to the attitudes and challenges that exist in this regard, proceeds to critique and review them in a comparative manner and subsequently explains the viewpoint of Ayatollah Misbah Yazdi regarding the meaning of life and describes its connection to proximity to God.

In response to this question, various theories have been presented; but there is also this answer that life is meaningful and purposeful only if it possesses a transcendent purpose whose aspect of transcendence is linked to the Exalted God, because the whole of human existence, due to the fact that it is a contingent existence, is inherently devoid of existential independence.
Thus, according to Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi, the true perfection of man, which is the constituent of his humanity, is achieved through divine proximity, and it is only through this path that his life becomes meaningful (ibid.
The Professor then said: "The truth that is considered the ultimate perfection of man, and which we call proximity to God, is a level of existence in which the innate aptitudes of the person reach actuality through his own journey and voluntary movement" (ibid.
