خلاصة:
In terms of inner conscience and outer progress, humans desire happiness and prosperity; based on this, they wish to continue their lives in an ideal society alongside progressive and sublime individuals—people who are free, duty-bound, God-fearing, fair, and logical. What brings humans closer together is obedience to divine laws and the Sharia of the Prophet and Ali. Enjoining good and forbidding evil is among these laws and Sharia commands, which lead to the physical and spiritual health of humans, the prosperity and development of lands, the security of cities, and ultimately, the establishment of human vicegerency by God on Earth. However, factors such as weakness of beliefs, economic issues, negative propaganda, etc., can act as disruptors and damages to this matter, leading to the suspension or fading of the important duty of enjoining good and forbidding evil. The present article has investigated this subject using a descriptive-analytical method and library tools.
ملخص الجهاز:
Enjoining good and forbidding evil has universality from various aspects, with the following explanation: Firstly, all human beings, from young to old, are subject to this ruling; meaning this duty is not the responsibility of a specific individual or group, but rather it is a universal supervision placed upon all members of society.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has pointed out the importance of the subject of enjoining good and forbidding evil in many places, some of which are mentioned here: مَن اَمَرَ بالمَعروفِ وَ نَهی عَنِ المُنکَرِ فَهُوَ خَلیفَهُ اللهِ فی اَرضِهِ وَ خَلیفهُ رَسُول اللهِ و خَلیفهُ کتابِهِ.
In this narration, Imam al-Reza (AS) conveys the importance of the issue of enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong through the words of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), emphasizing that we must not leave this matter to one another, for if we do, we will face Divine punishment.
Since it is not possible to address all of them in this writing, two cases are mentioned as examples: Marcel Boisvaux says: The religion of Islam seeks to establish a society where humans, whether individually or collectively, are commanders of goodness (enjoining what is right) and preventors of evil (forbidding what is wrong).
Also, Imam Ali (as) considers the implementation of the duty of enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong as the cause for the stability of the Sharia.
