Achieving the purity and detachment of the soul is contingent upon staying away from natural desires, restraining it from sensual pleasures, abandoning worldly goods and adornments, dedicating one's limbs and organs for the sake of God in strenuous deeds, persisting in the remembrance of God, and directing the heart towards Him. For this reason, God—the Exalted—has ordained acts of worship that include these matters; because some of 42 acts of worship, is the spending of wealth in the way of God, which causes detachment from worldly goods; such as: Zakat, Khums, and Sadaqat.
And among all acts of worship, Hajj includes all these matters with additions; because it involves leaving one's homeland, physical hardship, spending wealth, cutting off worldly hopes, enduring difficulty, renewing the divine covenant, Tawaf, supplication, and prayer.
And there is no doubt that: gathering in such a honored location, despite being a cause for achieving intimacy and companionship among people and reaching the service of the good ones who come from all around the world for Hajj and the swiftness of answered prayers, causes the remembrance of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family), his greatness, and his endeavor and concern in promoting the divine religion and spreading God's laws.
Know that: when a person leaves their homeland with the intention of Hajj, enters the desert, observes the dunes and obstacles, and turns toward the House of God, they should remember that their departure from the world and their entanglement with the wailing of the realm of Barzakh and the Resurrection is until the meeting with the Lord.
