One of the important teachings of Buddhism is the principle of suffering. Based on it, Buddha considers the most important characteristic of human life to be suffering in life and proposes ways to achieve liberation from this issue. In the teachings of Islam and the Shia Imams, although the existence of calamities and problems in life is accepted for all humanity, suffering resulting from calamity is considered dependent on man's perspective toward calamities and problems; furthermore, in the view of the Imams of Guidance, suffering is fundamentally not considered identical to viewing something as a calamity. In this research, we will address the comparison of both ideas and examine the alignments and misalignments of the two ideas.
