) Thus, sense and experience are the main pillars of modern non-divine spirituality methodologically, and materialism and irrationalism are its prominent characteristics; because this spirituality is worldly and this-worldly, which has been placed as an alternative to religion, cannot be combined with it and does not accept devotion; while this view does not answer any of the real needs of man; because empiricism introduces the domain of science as the realm of nature and ethics as this-worldly, and does not consider spirituality without a material tint (Javadi Amoli, 2016: 57), and has caused the path of acquiring spiritual and practical sciences to deviate from its original essence due to excessive attention to material insight and reaching worldly material goals; because through materiality, one cannot rescue man from the crisis of lack of belief in true spirituality, which is the most fundamental crisis of today's human society (Javadi Amoli, 2007, Vol. 3: 368).
d) The theory of spiritual progress, derived from the anthropological foundations of Allameh Tabataba'i Islamic spirituality is applicable in all dimensions of social evolution and causes the growth of the individual and society in various fields; unlike non-divine spirituality, it is not such that it grows in some dimensions and stops in others; because Islam pays attention to real and true values that are rooted in the soul of man and become the factor for the transcendence of personality, the flourishing of human spirituality, and the means of proximity to God (Javadi Amoli, 2006, Vol. 18: 386).
