خلاصة:
The religious intellectual movement, in terms of thought, is a continuation of the evolutionary process of the intellectual movement in Iran, which created a different attitude toward religion compared to previous generations. This term, as one of the common terms, has always challenged the contemporary intellectual, historical, and socio-political studies of Iran, and it is impossible to ignore it from a socio-historical perspective in the course of the evolution of the intellectual movement. This category, which is a relatively new and unique social phenomenon, has attracted the attention of many contemporary political thinkers due to its intellectual principles and contexts of emergence. Given this matter, the present research, using a descriptive-analytical method and employing a library-based approach, seeks to examine these principles and contexts by posing the question: 'What are the most important intellectual-ideological principles and socio-political contexts of the emergence of the religious intellectual movement in contemporary Iranian history?' Based on the preliminary hypothesis, the connection between religion and science, the adaptation of new ideologies with religion, attention to religion in reforming social affairs, emphasis on positivism as the most important intellectual principles, and serious opposition to non-religious or anti-religious thoughts and worldviews, the influence of dual traditional and modern institutions, and the tendency of religious traditionalists toward new changes in religion have been the most important socio-political contexts for the emergence of this movement.
