خلاصة:
One of the doctrinal topics of Muslims—which, due to its great importance, has been and is a subject of much debate and discussion—is the topic of intercession. The late Ayatollah Maleki Mianji, in the interpretation of Manahij al-Bayan, like other commentators, has presented discussions regarding intercession, which are referred to in this discourse. To complete the benefit, the detailed discussion headings of Ayatollah Maleki in his other book (Badai' al-Kalam fi Tafsir Ayat al-Ahkam) are also provided.

the verses of the Holy Qur'an and due to the absolute ownership of the Truth (God), considers any form of intercession — whether in this world, the Barzakh, the Day of Resurrection, or generally at any stage — to be only by divine permission, and states that this permission, in addition to the grace of the Almighty, will be due to the merit and worthiness of both the intercessor and the one being interceded for.
It is the truth that intercession and the exercise of pardon or punishment of servants, through the justice and grace of the Almighty, belongs absolutely to Him. There is no doubt that God the Glorious is the Owner of forgiving and punishing servants, without anyone having any ability or power against Him; and if intercessors intercede for an individual, this does not diminish the ownership and power of the Almighty, because God, who is the Owner of pardon and punishment, can also forgive or not forgive at the stage of intercession, meaning He can accept or not accept the intercession (Ibid, Vol. 1, p.
As the verse states, this permission for intercession is subject to the ownership of the Almighty, and only someone can intercede whom God is pleased with, and this pleasure is not attained except through their actions and beliefs, meaning His pleasure with their religion.
In explaining this verse in the continuation of the discussion on intercession, the commentator writes: If the subject pronoun in the word "layamlikauna" refers to those seeking intercession, as it appears to be, then intercession does not include them and has no effect upon them unless there has been a covenant or agreement between the Almighty and them, and for such a covenant to be established, there is no way except that the individual be among the righteous.
