The Symbolic Application of Lady Zaynab3's Character in Contemporary Bahraini Poetry Dr. Seyed Mehdi Nouri Kizganir Rasool Khamr, Dr. Abbas Ganjali, Dr. Hossein Shamsabadi Date Received: 13/02/1402 Date Accepted: 16/06/1402 Abstract Great women throughout history have been models of perfection and humanity, enchanting the world with their greatness.
Considering the various stages of her life and the nature of Lady Zaynab3's role in the Ashura movement and the subsequent events, at least four prominent characteristics can be considered for her, which most contemporary Arabic poets have focused on and emphasized, using as symbols in their poems: 1- Steadfastness and patience in the face of calamities; 2- Defense of the Husayni movement and creed; 3- Eloquence and rhetoric; 4- Courage and clarity in expressing the truth.
For this reason, in another poem titled "Mawlid al-Sayyida Zainab3", Hashem Mousavi considers her a bright lamp for movement and awakening, a reliable and believable sign for the free and the seekers of truth, and views her as an eternal model and an ever-raised banner for humanity throughout history, because every moment of her life was shaped by Quranic order and there is no deviation in her revolutionary and responsible path of movement: «هِیَ زینَبُ لِلْثائِرینَ مَنارُ تَمشِی وَیَمشِی خَلفَهَا الأَحرارُ وَ بِزَیْنَبَ خَیرُالبَریَّةِ فاخِروا کُلُّ البَریَّةِ تَهتَدی بِهُدَاها وَعَلَی الزَّمانِ لِواؤُهاخَفَّاقُ لِضَریحُهایَتَهافَتُ الْعُشّاقُ هِیَ قُدْوَةُ الأَخیَاروَ الأَبرار وَعَلیٌّ بِالقُرآنِ قَدْ رَبَّاها (Ahl al-Bayt Poets Website, Bahraini Poets Section, Sayyid Hashem Mousavi); this is Zainab, who is like a lantern for the fighters; she is the leader, and behind her, the free people move.
