First, it is necessary to introduce the two terms, existence and essence, from the perspective of Mirza Jawad, and then to establish the point of contention between him and the philosophers and mystics, so that the intellectual foundation and principles of their critique of Transcendent Wisdom become clear.
because reason, having neither perceived the sacred essence of the Exalted Creator itself nor observed the quality of creation and origination, how can it discover such a definitive judgment about Him?" (Tehrani 1367: 220) The summary of Mirza Javad's discourse regarding the invalidation of the principle of homogeneity is as follows: First—existence is an abstract and conventional matter; therefore, basing the relationship between cause and effect on the semantic sharing of existence is fundamentally invalid; thus, the existential relationship and similarity between the Creator and the created is invalid.
Mirza Javad rejects the second and third views and asserts that a necessary implication of discussing the issue of origination is the acceptance of homogeneity between the Creator and the created; and since we have no valid rational or transmitted proof that is justified and certain regarding the necessity and establishment of homogeneity between the Creator and the created, therefore the discussion of origination, as the philosophers believe, is invalid, because on one hand, reason has not perceived the sacred essence of the Exalted Creator itself, and on the other hand, it is not capable of observing the quality of His creation and origination.
