ملخص الجهاز:
The study of the architecture of cemeteries is important from several aspects: first, that a cemetery is physically inseparable from humans and their lives, and its formation is intertwined with the religious, spiritual, social concepts and values, and the artistic traditions of human societies; therefore, to understand certain aspects of human social life, it is necessary to study the graves and the symbols used in them; second, that by studying cemeteries of different eras, one can examine the process of formation and development of architectural death monuments in both modern and ancient cultures; third, that one can discover the reasons and factors influencing the formation of cemeteries and the differences between them, identify and categorize those factors, and consider them in future urban development plans.
On one hand, the psychological effects of improving the landscape and architecture of burial areas for city residents, and on the other hand, the diversity created due to the existence of cemeteries of different religions—and specifically the existence of ancient mounds cemeteries from the Parthian period in Ahvaz city, as well as the existence of the tomb of Ali ibn Mahziar al-Ahvazi in this city—provides the possibility for developing cultural and religious tourism in this city.
Based on field studies and the examination of legible tombstones of the remaining graves, its formation dates back to the year 1344 SH; and according to the contact for the Mandaean Association 27, the founding date of this cemetery is the year 1341 SH, and it has not undergone any period of renovation or development.
