خلاصة:
The clear religion of Islam, in its teachings, has placed utmost attention on the issue of honor and humiliation, and has made Muslims obligated to strive in preserving their dignity and respect, to protect their greatness and nobility from harm, and to avoid speech and behavior that leads to their humiliation and disgrace. In this research, using a library-based method, an attempt has been made to examine the concept of self-humiliation and the issues surrounding it from the perspective of Nahj al-Balagha. For greater awareness and recognition of this subject, the linguistic and terminological meanings of humiliation have been stated, as well as the human characteristics of those who possess this moral vice, which include: materialism, encroachment on the property of others, lack of concern regarding the spread of science and knowledge, loquacity, revealing secrets and hardships, having a tendency toward someone who does not desire them, and requesting sustenance from others. The author, in this research, has moved beyond these characteristics and looked into the roots and factors of humiliation and disgrace, stating four factors: sin, love of the world, ignorance, and negligence. Finally, solutions such as معرفت (gnosis/knowledge), piety, and following the lifestyle of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) have been extracted from the noble book of Nahj al-Balagha, where معرفت is introduced as the most fundamental solution for escaping humiliation and disgrace.

An Approach to the Concept of Self-Abasement and the Way to Liberation from it from the Perspective of Nahj al-Balagha Alireza Rajabi 1 Abstract The manifest religion of Islam, in its teachings, has paid utmost attention to the issue of honor and abasement, and has made Muslims obligated to strive in preserving their honor and respect, to protect their greatness and nobility from harm, and to avoid speech and behavior that leads them to humiliation and disgrace.
Since God has created humans as beings possessing status and personality, and there are factors that distance them from this status and cause them to suffer abasement and disgrace, one of the most important topics that has received much attention in the noble Nahj al-Balagha is the issue of abasement and disgrace, which in itself can be evidence of the importance of this matter; because the Commander of the Faithful, throughout Nahj al-Balagha, in the sermons and letters he wrote to various individuals, reminds them of this issue.
» Mr. Ibn Maytham, in his commentary on Nahj al-Balagha, states under this wisdom: «This abasement and lowliness is a characteristic that a human encounters by seeking the world.
The World One of the topics that occupies a large volume of the discussions in Nahj al-Balagha, and which Amir al-Mu'minin Ali (as) presents in various ways, is the discussion of the world, which can be considered one of the most fundamental factors of the humiliation and degradation of humans.
