خلاصة:

The findings reflect generational differences upon constructive local identity and confrontation with. In fact, the first generation (over 50 years old) has a uniform and cohesive cultural-indigenous identity and resists new identities. The second group (31-50 years) puts elements of both indigenous and non-indigenous identities together, and finally the younger generation (20-30 years) has constructed its cultural identity in an incoherent and dual way.

Cultural Sociology, Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies Scientific Quarterly (Scientific-Research Article), Vol. 13, No. 2, Summer 2022, 1 - 27 The Construction of Cultural-Indigenous Identity within the Context of Generations; A Qualitative Study among Three Generations of Citizens in Bandar Abbas Azita Pourtorogh * Yaser Rastegar**, Saeed Moidfar *** Abstract Given the trends of development, cultural pluralism, and the growth of urban modernization, cultural-indigenous identity has distanced itself from its original form and is undergoing change; on the other hand, this issue takes a special form among different generations and in migrant-receiving cities.
The relationship of the natives of Bandar Abbas with non-natives is another issue, along with the different perceptions of various generations regarding indigenous identity or the so-called Bandari (Bandar Abbasi) identity and its constituent elements, part of which is the result of the perception and interpretation that individuals of each generation have had through daily life with immigrants and non-natives living in the city (Rastgar and Hadi, 2020).
Therefore, the fundamental question of the present research is: how do the native citizens of Bandar Abbas in different generations perceive their indigenous identity, and based on which elements and concepts do they construct it for themselves?
5. Research Findings The construction of indigenous cultural identity among three age groups was carried out across 8 components: environment, food, customs and beliefs, language, clothing, music, family, and communications, which are interpreted differently in each generation compared to others.
