Domestic violence against women, in addition to legal and moral aspects, has numerous physical, psychological, and social consequences that can endanger the health of women, families, and society. Existing studies regarding the prevalence of domestic violence (including physical, verbal, psychological, sexual abuse, and combinations of these types), by studying the subject at different stages of women's lives and considering different temporal and spatial situations, possess great diversity. All these studies report very high levels of domestic violence in developing countries. Iran is no exception to this matter and, due to certain historical backgrounds, has unfortunately always regarded women as a second gender, and these perceptions have led to the occurrence of painful and tragic disasters against women. Given these conditions, the question of this article is: what is the Iranian legislator's perspective on the category of ensuring women's security against violence? The research method in this article is descriptive-analytical, and the data collection method is library-based. The research findings indicate that the Iranian legislator, by proposing the Women's Security Provision Bill, seeks to eliminate violence against women, and Islamic penal codes also consider violence against women, but they are not sufficient.
