If we consider startups as a mechanism for finding superior ideas, an important factor for entering the next stage or innovation is finding an investor for those superior ideas. Therefore, the aim of this research is to identify, prioritize, and determine the causal relationships between the factors affecting the financing of startups. The decision group consists of 30 managers and experts of startups, knowledge-based companies, and companies located in the Golestan Province Science and Technology Park. In this research, using the Fuzzy Delphi approach, 6 components along with their sub-criteria affecting the financing of startups have been identified and extracted. Subsequently, using the DEMATEL technique, in addition to prioritizing the components, the causal and effect relationships between the main components affecting startup financing have been determined. Finally, among the 6 main components in the financing of these enterprises, 4 components—namely existing risk factors in the idea, market characteristics, idea characteristics, and financial characteristics—were identified as causes, and 2 factors—legal characteristics and infrastructure characteristics, along with their respective sub-categories—were identified as effects in startup financing. These factors are vital for startup investors.
