خلاصة:
In the Punjab University Library, Lahore (Pakistan), ten ancient leaves of the Holy Quran are kept under number 6355 (Shirani Collection), which also contain a Persian interlinear translation. These ten scattered leaves belong to Surahs An-Naml and Al-Qasas and were previously owned by Hafiz Mahmud Khan Shirani (1880–1946 AD), a famous Pakistani codicologist and paleographer. The date of translation is from the second half of the fifth century AH or the first half of the sixth century, but the date of writing the manuscript is, of course, about two to three centuries later. This translation has some notable dialectal features that, from their combination, suggest it belongs to the region of Transoxiana and Greater Khorasan. In this article, images of the manuscript and its lettered text are presented.

Hafiz Mahmud Shirani, ancient translation of the Holy Quran, old dialects of the Persian language, Transoxiana and Khorasan In 2002, while I was cataloging the precious manuscripts of the Shirani Collection in the Punjab University Library, Lahore (Pakistan), I came across ten scattered leaves under number 6355, which were remnants of a Mushaf Karim with a Persian sub-translation.
Because the script of the ancient manuscript caught my attention and the language of the sub-translation also had an old style, I took photographs of these ten leaves, which are now being presented with their images and transcribed text along with a brief preface to paleographers and linguists.
Persian Translation of the Holy Quran (Shirani Manuscript) Surah An-Naml 67.
And surely your Lord knows that which they hide in their chests, meaning they keep it concealed, and that which they make manifest.
Surely it was said: I, who worship the Lord of this city, whom He has made sacred, meaning respected, oh how respected?
And a man came from afar, meaning from the edge of the city, running; he said: O Moses, surely this group is consulting and talking about you to take you.
And Moses said: My Lord is more knowing of bringing the right path from Him. And He is the final destination for me.
