In this article, in order to explain the role of the internet in the cultural development of the university, first the concept of cultural development and its process are described, and then the importance of cultural development in the contemporary era is raised. Subsequently, while describing the internet and mapping its current status in Iran and the world, the role of the internet in the cultural development of the university is mentioned, and finally, based on a survey conducted among communication students of Islamic Azad University, Tehran East Branch regarding the subject, the obtained results are presented.

Data Analysis Based on Inferential Statistics: First Sub-hypothesis: The internet can influence cultural development in the university through the component of cultural freedom.
The observed frequency shows that from the perspective of the studied population, there is a significant relationship between the component of behavioral pattern and cultural development in the university.
Main hypothesis: The internet can influence cultural development in the university through the components of cultural freedom, cultural creativity, cultural dialogue, and behavioral pattern.
Based on the observed frequency from the perspective of the studied population, there is a significant relationship between the role of the components of cultural freedom, cultural creativity, cultural dialogue, and behavioral pattern and cultural development in the university.
95 confidence level, it can be said that from the perspective of the sample population, there is a significant relationship between the role of the components of cultural freedom, cultural creativity, cultural dialogue, and behavioral pattern and cultural development in the university.
