In this study the researchers studied structure and elements of the narrative in variety of stories such as epic and mysticism which can indicate one common and basic structure underling them. In this regard the researchers chose "Forood story" from the Shahnameh of Ferdowsi and studied it through the morphological trend and they pointed out the role of Ferdowsi as a massive narrator in this story. In addition to the analysis of motional organism and sequence of story events، they introduced group of heroes specially the protagonists on the basis of dialogue between characters، and recognized villain or a hero who become an anti-hero. The study of the story shows that the element of transformation and metamorphosis of character has influenced the process of narration and the formation of functions; Tus, who holds the role of the hero in the first function of the story, influences the functions and turns into a false hero or anti-hero, acquiring another special function and role.
The existence of seven different functions from Propp's narrative pattern in the story in question indicates the difference in the type of Ferdowsi's narration in the Shahnameh compared to narration in folk tales, and it can be considered one of the weaknesses of this narrative pattern in analyzing narrative texts, based on the existence of a fixed pattern for all narratives.
In this way, the narrator of the story of Farud, although he does not play the role of one of the main heroes in the longitudinal course of the story, has an active presence amidst the movements present in the story and the actions of the characters, and speaks implicitly to the audience.
Based on Ferdowsi's narration, Bahram, the friend of Siavash, possesses positive character traits, and from this perspective, he can be considered the superior hero of the story; because no fluctuation in the positive functions of this character is seen throughout the story, and he fully possesses the characteristics of an authentic Iranian hero.
Based on the type of Ferdowsi's narration of the characteristics of the characters present in this story, it can be concluded that Bahram Dost, the loyal friend and companion of Siavash, is considered the main hero of the story.
