خلاصة:
The present article was prepared with the aim of investigating and determining the extent of internet resource use in preparing research projects of the Agricultural Extension, Education and Research Organization conducted during the years 2003-2004. Research method: In this study, using the citation analysis method, the amount of citation to information resources obtained through the internet, the type of resources used such as articles, books, and research project reports, and the year of use of information resources in 1700 completed research projects during the years 2003-2004 were investigated. Findings: The findings of the research show that only 106 projects (2.6 percent) of the total research projects under consideration have internet citations, and out of the total 2716 citations included in the 106 discussed research projects, the amount of citation to internet resources was 229 cases (8.4 percent). The subject of the projects that had internet citations was also investigated based on the Library of Congress subject classification. Accordingly, the subjects of plant cultivation, crops, and plant pests and diseases with 68.9 percent, soil, water, and irrigation 16 percent, fisheries 2.9 percent, and other subjects with 5.7 percent had the highest frequency. Conclusion: Regarding the type of internet resources, in 32.7 percent of the cases, the type of electronic citations included in the research projects were unspecified. In 31.9 percent of the cases, researchers only mentioned the main part of the website address. After citing the website, articles with 15.7 percent and research project reports and books each with 4.4 percent were in the next ranks. In addition to the above findings, the research institutes and centers that had the highest amount of citation to internet resources in their research projects have also been identified.
