An important point that many researchers strive to address in their discussions regarding the relationship between religion and art is that the Quran, in many instances, pays attention to goodness and beauty, and God has placed these two attributes alongside material elements such as profit and benefit, as if He wants to draw the believers' attention to the fact that it is not appropriate for them to limit their interactions with those around them to a mechanical relationship, but rather they should also consider the aesthetic dimension in that relationship.
Dr. Muhammad Amara summarizes the reasons for the prohibition of singing and music, and the response to those who consider both to be permissible and lawful, as follows: Judging whether auditory art, which is one of the types of beauties created by God, is permissible or forbidden is a duty performed for the sake of art and a goal that people pursue.
Consequently, if images and figures are tools of polytheism or deviation from monotheistic belief, they must be rejected and their creation considered forbidden, which is the Quranic view; however, if they are only for adornment and beauty, showing human capability, creating joy and happiness in life, and human growth, and also if they are for immortalizing values, meanings, and good and beautiful characteristics, in this case, they are considered pure and permissible because they indicate the blessings of God. The researcher encounters the same method with the hadiths of the Prophet (PBUH) who considered images and figures to be forbidden.
