For this reason, until the emergence of Jami, who is considered the seal of the poets of this period, nothing is seen except the repetition, imitation, arrangement, and refinement of poetic traditions.
Aside from factors such as the chaos and insecurity of the post-Safavid period until the rise of Nader and Karim Khan, and subsequently the Qajar dynasty, and the leisure and freedom that poets found for researching and delving into the works of the ancients, according to some experts, this return to the tradition of the ancients might be considered an expression of the latent desire to return to a lost paradise, which perceived the establishment of order and rule as the only means of liberation from the turmoil and disorder prevailing in the environment.
The most important poets of this period, which began during the time of Agha Mohammad Khan and Fath-Ali Shah with the efforts of the Isfahan Literary Society, include Saba Kashani, Sholeh Isfahani, Visal Shirazi, Sohbaye Qomi, Sahab, Mojmar, Soroush, Mushtaq, Azar, Sabahi, Ashegh, Rafiq, Qaani, Foroughi, and Yaghma, all of whom composed poetry in the manner of previous poets.
Because the poets of the era of the Return, despite all their efforts to recognize and revive ancient tradition, and despite considering themselves the saviors of Persian culture and literature, seem to have been strangers to the spirit of poetry and art, to artistic traditions, and to the nature of transformations and the philosophy of the history of literature.
