The following institutions also cooperated in holding the seminar: - UNESCO, Paris; - Fine Arts Association, Amman; - The Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization of the Islamic Conference Organization, ISESCO, Rabat The main goal of the fifth seminar was to examine the sources of Islamic arts in various fields, including architecture, painting, calligraphy, music, handicrafts, and related disciplines in visual and performing arts in Central Asia and Eastern Europe. In this seminar, more than seventy specialists from the Russian Federation, Hungary, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Tajikistan, Poland, Germany, Turkmenistan, Saudi Arabia, Czech Republic, England, Switzerland, Syria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, United States of America, Turkey, Pakistan, Uganda, Macedonia, India, Jordan, and the Islamic Republic of Iran (Mr. Engineer Abu al-Qasim Khoshro, Artistic Deputy of the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, and Rahim Najafi Barzegar, Head of the Center for Art Studies and Research) participated. The opening session was held with the reading of a message from Mr. Ali, President of the Islamic Arts Foundation (London), by Mr. Jalaluddin Ahmed; the reading of a message from Abdul Aziz Othman Al-Tuwaijri, Director General of ISESCO, by Mr. Omar Al-Qadi; a welcome message from Dr. Mohammad Adnan Al-Bakhit, President of Al al-Bayt University and Chairman of the Seminar Organizing Committee; and a speech by Dr. Nourhan Atassi. Among the most important dramatic works presented at the professional theater festival in Jordan in 1994, the following five plays are worth mentioning: 1-Al-Dhabal (The Decomposer), written by Mahdawi al-Adwan and Nasser al-Omar, directed by Hatem al-Sayed, with a screenplay by Sawsan Darawzeh.
