خلاصة:
The aim of this research was to examine the relationship between marital conflict and parent-child relationship with the emotional and behavioral pathological symptoms of children, as well as the role of marital conflict in the relationship between parents and children. For this purpose, a sample group (314 people) from the population of fifth-grade elementary school students in Tehran, including 222 girls and 391 boys, were selected using a multi-stage proportional random sampling method and were studied. Mothers responded to the Ulri-Porter overt hostility questionnaire, mothers and teachers responded to the child's abilities and problems questionnaire, and children responded to the parent-child relationship subscale of the Children's Perception of Interparental Conflict Scale. The results of standard and simultaneous regression analysis indicated the predictive role of marital conflict and parent-child relationship in the emotional and behavioral symptoms of children. Additionally, higher marital conflict was a predictor of the child's more logical perception of the relationship with parents. Hierarchical regression analyses did not confirm any mediating role for the parent-child relationship in the connection between marital conflict and the child's pathological symptoms. The results of this research indicate the predictive role of marital conflict in reducing the quality of the parent-child relationship, and the role of marital conflict and the parent-child relationship in predicting the emotional and behavioral pathological problems of children.

Based on two theories, the cognitive-contextual framework theory and the contagion theory, the aim of this study was to investigate the role of marital conflict in predicting the parent-child relationship and the emotional and behavioral psychopathological symptoms of the child.
Additionally, this study sought to examine the mediating role of the parent-child relationship between the two variables of marital conflict and psychopathological symptoms in a sample of Iranian children.

Discussion and Conclusion This study confirmed the role of marital conflict and the relationship between parents and the child in predicting the child's emotional and behavioral pathological symptoms.
Another result of this research was the confirmation of the role of marital conflict in predicting the child's perception of the relationship with parents or parental emotional support.
The present study, in line with the development of previous findings and based on well-known and valid theories such as Bronfenbrenner's theory and the context-based cognitive framework model, showed that marital conflict, as a stressful risk factor, can be a negative predictor of the parent-child relationship as well as an increase in emotional and behavioral symptoms in Iranian children.
