In the writing before you, one of the literary figures of Isfahan in the 7th century is introduced independently. The prominent feature of this wise man of letters is the composition of a collection of Arabic quatrains. The biography and works of this Persian-speaking and Arabic-composing poet are confused and ambiguous in books of literary history and the writings of contemporaries. In this article, the author has attempted, based on historical clues, the oldest biographical books, and the surviving works of the poet, to present a clearer image of this scholarly man of letters.
