Separation anxiety refers to excessive separation anxiety and weak attachment between mother and child. Signs of this disorder include unrealistic fear and worry, showing emotional disturbance, persistent and resistant fear of being alone, refusal to sleep alone at night, nightmares and disturbed nocturnal sleep, extreme emotions such as crying and irritability, and decreased self-confidence. In order to resolve this problem, therapeutic goals are suggested in the form of short-term and long-term goals along with appropriate therapeutic interventions.

Behaviorally, the description of this disorder can be completed as follows: A- Showing extreme emotions such as crying, irritability, and recurrent excessive disturbance when the individual is about to be separated from home.
al -Reducing the frequency and intensity of crying, dependency, anger, and irritability during separation from individuals to whom the person is attached.
G- Talking about physical complaints and expressing feelings H- Referring the individual for medical examinations 2) Helping the client: A- Building trust through eye contact, listening to the individual's words, unconditional attention, and sincere help in expressing feelings B- Increasing self-confidence to overcome fears and anxieties C- Teaching relaxation techniques to reduce anxiety D- Helping the client talk about their worries in order to reduce them E- Applying biofeedback techniques to increase relaxation and reduce anxiety F- Guiding the individual to be with friends and spend long periods of time with them G- Reviewing the activities the individual performs on days of separation from parents (without showing irritability) and reinforcing positive reactions on separation days.
B- Providing prizes and rewards by parents to encourage the individual to control their separation-related reactions.
4) Therapist, child, parents: A- Examining whether the child's anxiety and fear of separation are related to an actual loss or not?
D- Agreeing on keeping parents away from children to reduce their dependency and helping the individual to exhibit more independent behaviors during separation.
