خلاصة:
Sindbad-nameh Zahiri Samarqandi has been edited and published twice so far: first, edited by Ahmad Atash in 1948 in Istanbul, and then Dr. Mohammad Baqer Kamal al-Din edited and published this book in 1381 at the Center for Publishing Written Heritage, based on a Tashkent manuscript that had not been seen by Ahmad Atash. Although the recent edition of Sindbad-nameh has, in some cases, corrected the errors and distortions present in Ahmad Atash's printing of Sindbad-nameh, it itself is not free from shortcomings and slips. In this discourse, the slips related to vocabulary recording, semantic and translational slips, and typographical slips of the recent printing are examined.
ملخص الجهاز:
Ahmad Atash's edited text, which is not free from errors, was the only existing edition of Sindbadnameh until recently, until Dr. Mohammad Baqer Kamal-al-Dini achieved a new critical edition of Sindbadnameh based on the Tashkent manuscript and published his corrected text along with an introduction, commentaries, and a glossary of Sindbadnameh in 1381.
1 As can be observed, the phrase "نسیم تریاق توان ساخت" does not convey any meaning, and this is because "نسیم" is an emendation of "بسیم = به سیم", therefore the correct phrase is the one that appears in the Sindbadnameh edited by Mohammad Baqer Kamal-al-Dini: «کنیزک گفت: خشونت طبع...
2. Errors related to lexical recording In the Sindbadnameh edited by Kamal-al-Dini, some words have not been correctly recorded, and distortions or emendations have occurred in them, including the word "تقبل" in the following phrase: «اگر درین عصر، پادشاهان گذشته، از پیرایه ممات در رَبَض دایره حیات درآیندی،...
Never shall it enter the mind For perhaps a lucky minister's procession comes to your door Now, come kiss the hand of the budding star Or come take the hand of the plane tree 13 Another error seen in the Sindbadnameh edited by Kamal-al-Dini (and also in Ahmad Atash's edition) is the emendation of the word "tahayyur" (confusion/perplexity) in the following phrase: When the woman had hidden the child in the chamber, she became perplexed.
In these phrases, which appear in the Sindbadnameh edited by Dr. Kamal al-Dini, quoted from the Sindbadnameh edited by Ahmad Atash in the page footnotes, incorrect words seem to be, that referring to their correct forms is not without benefit.
