In the present article, the book 'An Introduction to the Islamic Revolution' is subjected to criticism, and it has been concluded that while this book possesses certain formal and content-related strengths, there are some shortcomings that need to be addressed; the most important of which are: revising the theoretical framework governing the book, providing a comprehensive analysis of the events of the Islamic Revolution, and presenting sufficient arguments and necessary citations. The four main chapters of the book, namely chapters two to five ــ titled "The End of the Mirage Era," "How the Crisis Begins," "Carter, Human Rights, and Iran," and "Political Open Space" ــ cover about 100 pages of the book's volume, and in two other chapters, preliminary issues are discussed; however, no mention is made of the role of the people in the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
6. Failure to make necessary and sufficient reference to reliable sources and definitive evidence to prove the hypotheses of the discussion: ــ Disregarding certain published works about the Islamic Revolution and not including them in the four categories considered by the author.
5. Failure to provide sufficient reasoning and evidence: ــ The author, to prove his hypothesis that the tyrannical structure of the Shah's regime, ــ has overlooked various theories and analyses regarding this revolution; ــ has ignored the role of culture, ideology, thought, and intellect in the Islamic Revolution; ــ has forgotten the role of the people in the process of the revolution; ــ has paid insufficient attention to the role of its leadership; ــ has failed to explain how the revolution was organized; ــ has ignored the uprising of June 5, 1963 (15 Khordad 1342); ــ has not addressed the origins of religious forces, such as Sayyid Mujtaba Navvab Safavi, Ayatollah Kashani, Imam Khomeini (RA), Dr. Ali Shariati, Professor Morteza Motahhari, Ayatollah Sayyid Mahmoud Taleghani, Reza Shamsabadi, and their intellectual outlook and class base.
