Abstract:
Robert (Bob) Wilson was born in Texas in 1944. He was dumb until the age of 17. He established a show that had two prominent features: A- The duration of its performance is very long and unusual B- There are no words in it, or if it exists, it has lost its ordinary role and instead, visual effects have taken over the show scene. Relying on the performance elements of his works, Wilson believes that humans record their feelings on two levels, in the external mask and in the inner mask; What is consciously observed is recorded on the external mask . However, dreams and memories are recorded on the inner mask. Words, movement, music, lighting and stage design form the basis of his works and all that we look for in his works is the result of the relationship formed between these elements. His works are without story, without characterization and without dialogue. In the scene, we see and hear only the movement, music, lines, corners, colors and light shadows. Scenes and lights are changing and moving in the flow of time. One of the important aspects of Wilson's work is the visual beauty of his works, which is innovative in the use of space and movement and a strong architectural perspective. Lighting also plays an important and active role in his performance. Sound and language are another important layer that have given considerable initiative in its use. The qualitative research method is descriptive and analytical and based on library studies and the collection of written information, the main problem of the research is to analyze the relationship between the executive elements and the continuity of the storytelling in Wilson's works. In the following, his personal approach is also discussed as a factor that inspires him.
