For Muslim philosophers، Islamic philosophical psychology is of much significance due to the connection between knowledge of the self and knowledge of God in Quran and Hadiths. Moreover، Quran and Hadiths have opened new horizons for Muslim thinkers. However، one challenge for Muslim philosophers is to show the compatibility between intellectual achievements and the implications of religious texts. Though most theologians—following the religious texts—have advocated the theory of the ‘emergence of the soul before the body’، almost all Muslim philosophers have considered this as impossible and supported the view according to which the soul has emerged with or after the body. The Sadraean view has an advantage over its alternatives، because it is more compatible both with religious texts and with philosophical principles.
