AbstractUnderstanding the logic governing the validation of a hadith depends on knowing the presuppositions and principles of each approach. Selection of Mahdavi narrations in Muntakhab al Asar fi Imam Al-Thani Ashar by Grand Ayatollah Safi Golpayegani, which is based on a holistic reading, participates Shii and Sunni narrations in the process of finding evidence and selecting the appropriate narrations. regarding correct understanding of the thought system of this book allows for further evaluations,, this study, has tried to Identify its presuppositions and foundations by a thematic analysis. The results showed that meta transmissonal validation of Mahdavi narrations in the book has important presuppositions such as the first principle in the lack of authenticity of the tradition with a single transmitter (Khabar Wahid) in the belief to theological doctrines; attention to the methodology of the early scholars of hadith in its acquisition (Tahammul), and relies on principles such as the Possibility Rule (Qaede Imkan). Also, accurate reading and understanding of the criteria of al- jarh wa 'l- ta'dil (endorsing or discarding narrators) used for assessing transmitters, as well as paying attention to book_oriented basis of the early Shii scholars in evaluating the hadith, leads to applying the innocence principle in the unknown narrators of earlier Hadith sources. The frameworks and intellectual context of the Hadith evidentialist approach have caused the arrangement and validation of Mahdavi narrations to benefit from a systematic logic that, despite some considerations, has nothing to do with the Hadith literalism; because it follows the defined standards.
