Background and Objective: The inner child is, in fact, the society and environment in which humans are now struggling. Paying attention to the inner child and childhood psychological or mental trauma may result in personal, familial, and societal ataraxy. Addressing disorders from childhood rather than suppressing them will lessen mental disorders from generation to generation. This study aims at using non-pharmacological methods to help identify the inner child.
Materials and Method: This study was conducted using desk research (both printed and digital documents), interviews, and a wide range of sources (including books, articles, dissertations, and projects).
Findings and Results: According to the findings, art therapy is divided into numerous sub-branches, which are as follows: painting therapy, drama therapy, narrative therapy, cinema therapy, and music therapy. Art therapy is in fact a technique that requires a background, and those who receive it should not be expected to become artists after they have finished their treatment. In other words, the purpose of art therapy is not to make beautiful artworks, but rather to help act out emotionally, which should eventually lead to a form of psychological and mental recovery.
The current study's findings suggest that art therapy may help people act out emotionally, relax their minds, and bond with their inner child.
