Levi-Strauss, a renowned structuralist theorist, divided myths into their smallest constituent units, namely mythèmes, to uncover the hidden meanings of myths. He attempted to explain the hidden meanings in myths by determining the position of mythèmes in different narratives and also the binary oppositions between them. In the present research, the dual personality of Jamshid has been investigated using Strauss's structural approach. The different dimensions of his personality result from three binary oppositions: good and evil, death and immortality, the importance of family ties and its trivialization. Furthermore, the deep structure of the myth of Jamshid is formed based on the pattern of twins, where in this pattern, the first child has a benevolent face and the second child has a negative image due to endangering the mother's life. As long as Jamshid's twin is present in the myths, he takes on the role of a benevolent force, but then, as the role of his twin diminishes, he himself becomes the embodiment of both positive and negative personalities of the twins.

Using the same critical approach, the death and rebirth of three important mythical characters were analyzed in the article “Analysis of the Myths of Kaykhosrow, Garshasp, and Jamshid Based on Jung’s Views” (Emami & Rakni, 1391: 1-12).
The present research also employs an analytical-descriptive method while collecting various narratives of the myth of Jamshid in ancient sources and benefiting from the structuralist approach of Louis Strauss to answer the question of why Jamshid, unlike many mythical characters, is a collection of various oppositions?
In the construction of the myth of Jamshid, dual oppositions are used that are derived from the dual characteristics of Jamshid’s personality.
Analyzing the structure of the myth of Jamshid based on the theory of Claude Lévi-Strauss reveals several important oppositions.
