Ecosophy and Ibn Arabi (The Application of the Marriage of Divine Names and Attributes in Environmental Ethics) Hamzeh Ali Bahrami 1 Mohsen Shiravand 2 Abstract Ecosophy is an interdisciplinary science that emerges from the fusion of two fields: the natural and the epistemological.
The focus of the discussion in this research will be the investigation and clarification of the place of nature in Ibn Arabi and the study of the subject of the marriage of Divine Names and Attributes and how these mystical teachings can be applied in environmental ethics.
The themes discussed in the present research consist of: the discussion surrounding the position of nature in Ibn Arabi by examining his ontology, the examination of the issue of the marriage of Divine Names and Attributes and how the arrangement and interconnection of these teachings affect the issue of environmental ethics, and finally, the extraction of ethical teachings for the internalization of the inherent value of nature.
According to Ibn Arabi's theory of the Unity of Existence, a single truth governs the entire existence, and all creatures are considered modes, forms, and manifestations of this One; as a result of this appearance, manifestation, determination, and evolution, multiplicity arises and the phenomenal world appears.
Ibn Arabi continues writing: From the manifold divine attentions and illuminations, influences and effects arise, the result of which is a new thing that has emerged from the marriage and opposition of these.
