Özet:

The Ahl al-Bayt of the Prophet Muhammad have a special status in the Sunni collections of Prophetic hadiths. Of them, the two Infallible Imams al-Hasan and al-Husayn have received a very high number of hadiths in regard to their merits. Of them two, Imam al-Husayn has particularly been praised. A re-reading of such hadiths brighten the perspective one may obtain out of such literature. As such, he has received many honorific designations and titles. He has been depicted as one of the first dignitaries who shall enter the Divine Paradise and that Imam al-Mahdi is of his progeny.

This research shows that the prophetic narrations transmitted in Sunni hadith sources describe Imam Hussain (AS) as the fragrance of the Messenger (SAW), the leader of the youth of Paradise, the beloved of God and His Prophet, one of the first to enter Paradise, a guide and one who guides, and that the Promised Mahdi (AJ) is introduced from his lineage. Imam Hussain (AS), the Fragrance of the Messenger (SAW) In Sahih Bukhari, in the Book of Adab (Manners), in the chapter on expressing affection for children, love, and kissing it is narrated from Ibn Abi Nu'aym: و قال البخاری: «حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ‌ إِسْمَاعِیلَ‌، حَدَّثَنَا مَهْدِیٌّ‌، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ‌ أَبِی یَعْقُوبَ‌، عَنْ‌ ابْنِ‌ أَبِی نُعْمٍ‌، قَالَ‌: كُنْتُ‌ شَاهِدًا لِابْنِ‌ عُمَرَ، وَ سَأَلَهُ‌ رَجُلٌ‌، عَنْ‌ دَمِ‌ الْبَعُوضِ‌، فَقَالَ‌: مِمَّنْ‌ أَنْتَ‌؟ فَقَالَ‌: مِنْ‌ أَهْلِ‌ الْعِرَاقِ‌، قَالَ‌: انْظُرُوا إِلَى هَذَا، یَسْأَلُنِی عَنْ‌ دَمِ‌ الْبَعُوضِ‌، وَ قَدْ قَتَلُوا ابْنَ‌ النَّبِیِّ‌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ‌ عَلَیْهِ‌ وَ سَلَّمَ‌، وَ سَمِعْتُ‌ النَّبِیَّ‌ یَقُولُ‌ هُمَا رَیْحَانَتَایَ‌ مِنْ‌ الدُّنْیَا» (بخاری،1410: ۹ / ۲۱). Imam Hussain (AS), the Leader of the Youth of Paradise Many historians and scholars of hadith, such as Ahmad ibn Hanbal in Musnad, Ibn Majah in Sunan, and al-Hakim in Mustadrak, have narrated this theme with different expressions from the Holy Prophet (SAW), including the narration of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ‌ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ‌ الزُّبَیْرِیُّ‌، حَدَّثَنَا یَزِیدُ بْنُ‌ مَرْدَانُبَةَ‌، قَالَ‌: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ‌ أَبِی نُعْمٍ‌، عَنْ‌ أَبِی سَعِیدٍ الْخُدْرِیِّ‌، قَالَ‌: قَالَ‌ رَسُولُ‌ اللَّهِ:" الْحَسَنُ‌ وَالْحُسَیْنُ‌ سَیِّدَا شَبَابِ‌ أَهْلِ‌ الْجَنَّةِ‌" (ابن حنبل، 1416: 17/ ۳۱).
