Özet:
Recognizing the differences between the essential and accidental attributes of the Imams is a requirement of religious and Shiite rationality, which leads to a correct understanding of the nature of the doctrine of Imamate and the primary and secondary functions of the Imams for the Islamic Ummah. In this regard, essential attributes such as infallibility (Ismah), inspired knowledge (Ilm al-Ladhuni), religious guidance and interpretation of Quranic teachings, and inward guardianship (Wilayah Batiniyya) and being a mediator of divine grace can be distinguished from accidental attributes such as political leadership and establishing government, intercession (Shafa'at), and fulfilling the needs of followers. The importance of this distinction lies in paying attention to the constant role of the Imams in interpreting religion and guiding the people; because Shiites must also focus on these essential characteristics, and although accidental attributes are also important, they should avoid excessive focus on them, as preoccupation with accidental attributes leads to negligence regarding the importance and functional role of the Imams' essential attributes, whereas only this type of attribute is both a constituent of the doctrine of Imamate and an expression of the primary mission of the Imams for the Shiites. Therefore, religious rationality necessitates that while recognizing and showing proper love to the Imams, we strive to follow the authentic teachings of Imamate and, rather than seeking our worldly and otherworldly needs from the Imams, think more about recognizing our own mission towards them.

In this hadith, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) considers the condition for salvation, deliverance, and not going astray of the Islamic Ummah to be the adherence and return of the people to the Quran and the Ahl al-Bayt; and from since the clearest objective manifestation of Ahl al-Bayt is the Imams, the implication of this verse considers the people's recourse to the Imams as a necessary condition for the realization of felicity and salvation; whereas such a matter is logically possible only if the Imams, in response to the religious needs of the people and in showing them the path of felicity, are infallible and error-free, and are exempt from any kind of error in the interpretation of religion.
The importance of this matter becomes more apparent when we refer to the verses of the Quran and the words of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the Imams, we see that emphasis is mainly placed on infallibility, inspired knowledge (Ilm al-Ladhuni), Wilayah, guidance, and the interpretation of religion.
