چکیده:
راههای کاروانرویی که در سراسر شاهنشاهی هخامنشی احداث شده بود، از اقدامات برجسته و چشمگیر داریوش یکم بوده است که خود موثرترین وسیله تسهیل رفت و آمد، حمل کالاهای تجاری و نزدیک ساختن اقوام به یکدیگر بود. در قلمرویی به وسعت دولت هخامنشی، که نیاز به جابجایی سریع و کارآمد پیام، سپاهیان و کالاها اهمیت زیادی داشت، راهها دارای اهمیت فوقالعادهای بودهاند. کوروش بزرگ، داریوش و بعضا خشایارشا مبالغ کلانی را به ایجاد شبکههای مواصلاتی اختصاص داده بودند، که نهرهای بزرگ و جادههای ممتدی را به یکدیگر و گوشه و کنار شاهنشاهی سوق میداد. شاهان، سرداران، بازرگانان، کشاورزان و ... برای گذران زندگی و امورات خود به این راهها وابسته بودند. در واقع ادارهی سرزمین پهناور قلمرو هخامنشی مستلزم سیستم ارتباطی کارآمدی میان دربار سلطنتی مرکزی و مقامات ایالتی بود. این شریانهای اداری در عین حال جادههای نظامی هم بودند و حرکت سپاهیان برای حفظ نظم را تسهیل میکردند. رفت و آمد کاروانها در سراسر شاهنشاهی نیز مستلزم وجود و حرکت نگهبانان و اسکورت نظامی برای تضمین امنیت و سلامت رسیدن به مقصدها بود. بیشتر این جادهها، صرفا راههای مالروی سنگفرش نشده، ولی همواری بودند که برای اسب، ارابه و یا پای پیاده مناسب بودند.نوشتار موجود در وهلهی اول به سیر خط شریانهای مهم نظامی و تا حدودی اقتصادی پرداخته است، در وهلهی دوم به اهمیت و کارکرد آنها در شاهنشاهی هخامنشی پرداختهایم و در مرحلهی سوم استنباطی از سیاستهای دولت هخامنشی و نقش راهها را در این برههی زمانی مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار دادهایم.

Cyrus the great، Darius and sometimes Xerxes have been allocated large sums in establishing road networks، because of that major streams and roads were joined each other all around the monarchy. Kings، generals، businessmen، farmers for spending their life and affairs were depended on in that way. In fact، governing the vast territory of Achaemenid Empire required efficient communication between the Achaemenid central royal court andalso state authorities. Theseadministrativeroutes were the roads of armyyet and helped to facilitate the movements of troops in order to bringsafety to the states. Caravans' traveling around the Empire also required the existenceand movements of the military escorts and guards to ensure the safety and health to gettothe destinations. Most of theseroads were not paved solely، but they were so smoothingwhich were appropriate for horses، chariots and also to travel on feet.First، this research has beenfocused onimportant army routes and somewhat economical ones; next، it will explainthe importance and applications of roads at the Achaemenid era and finally، the role of roads at that period of timewill beanalyzed.
