The results of research show that reading literary texts about disease, especially with a phenomenological perspective, can help to better understand the patient and the disease, and it can lead to better knowledge of the biological world and the human mentality. Obviously, such an approach makes the study of literary works attractive and increases the acceptance of reading these texts among the audience. On the other hand, among human emotions, love and behaviors related to romantic emotions are very popular in literary works and Erotomania Disorder seems to be one of the delusional disorders mentioned in these works.
In this descriptive-analytical study, we will analyze how the symptoms of erotomania are described in two stories of “Rana” collection of stories "Nazli" written by Moniro Ravanipour and After “The Summer” from the collection of stories "Chahar Rah[1]" by Ghazaleh Alizadeh according to the 5-DSM diagnostic criteria. The results show that the fictional characters in the studied works show symptoms that meet the clinical diagnostic criteria of the disorder. In these stories, in addition to describing clinical signs, the authors also consider gender, social, economic and cultural factors. And this shows the skill of the writers in creating truthfulness and credibility in the plot of the story, which makes the reader better communicate with the text and be influenced by it. Also, describing the feelings and beliefs of these characters and their impact on their lives and personal and social relationships can help to better understand the mentality and biological experience of these people and create an interaction based on a correct understanding of the person in the real world.
