The progress which women's education made under Asaf Jah VII is evident from the fact that whereas at the time of his accession to the gad di there were only 91 Girls' schools with 6346 pupils, in 1947 there were nearly 900 Girls' schools with over 80,000 pupils.
Osmania University is the foremost monument of the late Nizam's abiding interest in education.
