Folk songs are one of the main directories of folklore, which have particular application due to deficiency, the diversity of content, and the comprehensibility. In recent years, numerous studies have been done in the field of folklore and folk songs, but in most of these studies, structural characteristics and literary songs have not been discussed. Fars region is one of the main territories of the spread of this type of local literature, so thousands of songs in the geographical area have identified and recorded. In this article, after reading 1997 local song tracks of Fars, rhythms, rimes, meters, and songs of prosodic techniques introduced in descriptive analytical method. The findings of this study confirm prosodic meters of the songs. Prosodic authority and weight of the main species in the Fars of local songs somewhat are different from formal poetry and folk songs of other regions of Iran. It also proved that in each of the main types of folk songs like couplet, lullabies, songs, soft narrative songs, cuddle, and play, the main weight of one or two are central.
