Cost management in teaching and general hospitals, especially in developing countries, has always been one of the fundamental challenges of health systems. Increasing operational costs, resource shortages, pressure on staff, and the need to maintain service quality are among the most important issues facing these medical centers. The aim of this article is to provide a systematic review of successful global experiences in the field of cost management and hospital productivity and to identify effective strategies for improving financial and operational performance. Examining global experiences shows that using modern management approaches, redesigning processes, improving workflow, optimal management of resources and equipment, and active participation of staff can lead to significant cost reduction, increased productivity, improved service quality, and enhanced patient and staff satisfaction. In many successful hospitals, reforming clinical and administrative processes has resulted in reduced patient waiting times, optimized use of equipment and beds, and the elimination of redundant activities. Additionally, smart management of inventory and consumable resources has helped reduce waste and operational costs and has enabled better allocation of resources to essential departments. Global experiences also show that combining several management approaches, including process redesign, resource management, staff training and empowerment, and continuous performance monitoring, has the greatest effectiveness. These actions not only bring about cost reductions but also enhance the quality of care and the satisfaction of staff and patients. Therefore, adopting systematic and comprehensive approaches in hospital management, especially teaching and general hospitals in developing countries, can provide an effective and sustainable model for improving financial performance, increasing productivity, and enhancing the quality of health services.

Therefore, adopting systematic and comprehensive approaches in hospital management, especially teaching and public hospitals in developing countries, can provide an effective and sustainable model for improving financial performance, increasing productivity, and enhancing the quality of health services.
In addition to costing methods, managerial and organizational approaches (such as human resource optimization, asset and equipment management, drug inventory control, and process standardization) and legal-financial tools (such as tariff regulation, reimbursement mechanisms, and insurance coverage) are among the effective components in hospital cost management; studies in Iran and similar countries have shown the combined role of these solutions in reducing uncontrolled costs and improving the financial sustainability of hospitals (Alian Ajam et al.
Successful Global Experiences in Cost Management and Hospital Productivity Over the past two decades, many countries have faced similar challenges in the health sector: increasing medical costs, resource shortages, pressure on staff, and the need to improve service quality.
In response to these challenges, hospitals and medical centers in various countries around the world have implemented novel management strategies, whose successful experiences show that costs can be reduced and service quality can be improved simultaneously by utilizing organizational and process-oriented approaches.
