The collapse of the Iraqi regime which is a clear sign of the·change in the Middle Eastern political map willbring about important. long-term and short-term consequences for Iran understanding of which will be subject to the realistic recognition of .one's own interests and those of other political actors. In the present article spirited within the realist theory context, US regional and international objectives and the reasons for the easy and rapid collapse of the Iraqi regime have been examined and the prospects for the Middle East after Saddam have been drawn, On this basis, frictions between the United States and the Middle East will persistand the most important challenge to Iran in the new regional- I , •conditions will include Iran's policies toward the Palestinian-Israeliconflict. In this perspective, in order to reduce the threats against Iran, it is necessary to pursue a persistent and unified national strategy, pay attention to the Iranian life quality as the criterlafor making all domestic and foreign policies, understand objectively regional and global· developments and to design a multi-faceted strategy toward the cooperating West.

In other words, perhaps the main problem for the United States in Iraq is not military victory which was realized relatively easily, but the major challenge involves the institutionalization of peace in the country that will bring about serious conceptual and political consequences for the Middle Eastern philosophical and geopolitical matrix.
