This research (the Initial Structure: Al-Asmai as a Model) aims at illustrating the concept of
poetic initiation, its rhetorical scope, its patterns, and its technical structures; and this will be carried
out through the application on a selection of the poetry of Al-Asmai in his collected poems ( Divan
Asmayat). To achieve this, the researcher used descriptive, analytical, and historical methods. And
the research reached a series of results; most important: the opening patterns in the Asmaites were
represented in the visual poetic style that resembles the visual sensory image, the dramatic poetic
style which was represented in the poets' use of the technique of dialogue and away from the direct
and rhetorical styles, and the narrative poetic style, which represented the poet's role in the narration
of narrator and the use of some narrative techniques such as retrieval technique. As for the opening
artistic structures, it consisted of three structures: the Tasree' and the Takfeiaha, which played a
significant role on the levels of music and significance, and the introductory retrieval which
represented the repetition of poetic refrain and its musical and semantic effect, and the introductory
paronomasia and its impact on significance and music.
