The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between class psycho-social atmosphere and students' academic procrastination through the mediating role of perceived stress. The sample consisted of 302 first grade high school girls in Mashhad who were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling. Data were collected using the Solomon and Roth Bloom (1984) Academic Procrastination Scale, Fraser et al.'s (1995) Psychosocial Atmosphere, and Cohen et al. (1983) Perceived Stress. Structural equation model was used as a statistical method for data analysis. The results showed that the psychosocial atmosphere of the class has a significant relationship with academic procrastination. As expected, mediation analyzes based on structural equation modeling showed an indirect effect of variables on academic procrastination through perceived stress. The bootstrap mediation test showed a significant role of mediated stress mediation in the relationship between the psycho-social atmosphere of the class and academic procrastination. Clearly perceived stress plays an important role in the relationship between classroom psychosocial climate and academic procrastination.
