چکیده:
Diabetes is accompanied by disorders in various organs and its consequences are significant. Pilates is a useful method for controlling the disease. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of selected Pilates exercises on muscle strength, balance, and glycosylated hemoglobin in patients with type 2 diabetes. 30 female patients with diabetes in the age range of 30-45 years were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. The experimental group performed eight weeks of Pilates exercises. Strength was measured with a dynamometer, static and dynamic balance with one-leg standing and stand and go tests, and glycosylated hemoglobin through blood tests, before and after eight weeks. Analysis of covariance was used to analyze the data. The findings showed that after eight weeks, a significant improvement was observed in muscle strength, static balance, and glycosylated hemoglobin in the experimental group, and no significant change was observed in the control group (P≥0.05). Also, the results did not show a significant change in dynamic balance in both the experimental and control groups (P≥0.05). The results showed that these exercises can be used as a beneficial complementary therapeutic method for these patients.[1]

The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of selected Pilates exercises on muscle strength, balance, and glycated hemoglobin in patients with type 2 diabetes.
These exercises include stretching and strengthening movements that are performed at a controlled speed along the joint's range of motion, accompanied by concentration and deep breathing, and the training method consists of exercises that focus on improving flexibility, strength, and balance in all parts of the body without the muscles leaving their natural state.
Therefore, considering the many benefits of Pilates exercises for these patients, the purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of selected Pilates exercises on static and dynamic balance and glycated hemoglobin in female patients with type 2 diabetes.
Contrology selected Pilates on static and dynamic balance and glycated hemoglobin in female patients with type 2 diabetes.
