چکیده:
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of play-based exercises on the motor development of overweight children with developmental coordination disorder. The research method was quasi-experimental and of the pre-test-post-test type. 50 children aged 8-10 years, overweight and with developmental coordination disorder were selected and after performing the pre-test, they were randomly assigned to two groups: experimental (n=30) and control (n=20). The experimental group participated in the specified protocol for 3 sessions per week for 3 months. The MABC-2 test was used as a measurement tool and SPSS version 21 software was used for data analysis. The results of the MANCOVA test showed that there is a difference between the experimental and control groups in at least one of the research variables. According to the results of one-way covariance analysis with a significance level of 0.05, it was found that there is a significant difference between the control group and the intervention group in the components of motor development and its subscales (hand dexterity, aiming and balance), and the experimental group achieved better scores. Therefore, it is recommended to prevent the progression of this disorder in overweight individuals by designing various exercises and early intervention, and to have a positive impact on the motor development of these individuals.

Discussion and Conclusion The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of play-based exercises on the motor development of overweight children with developmental coordination disorder.
The results showed that the intervention group improved in all subscales of agility, hand targeting, and balance after completing the exercises, so that the individuals' scores moved out of the at-risk status for coordination disorder, and the post-test average scores of the motor development test showed a normal status for these individuals.
